leaving buckets of w...Actual methods used by eric:<br /><br />leaving buckets of water around and discovering drowned rats in the morning.<br /><br />putting on his "stomping shoes" and entering the room where the rat was, blocking the mouseholes around the door, and going to town.<br /><br /><br />Throwing a shovel blade at a rat. this worked!<br /><br /><br />realizing the rat likes to scurry up and down in the space between the wall and the cupboard, waiting until the rat is there, and then slamming the cupboard into the wall as hard as possible, with a satisfying crunch.<br /><br />getting a cat. theseus was great, but our neighbors ate him when we were gone, so we got another cat. vaabuu was great.<br /><br />interestingly, our house in the States has so few living creatures in it...
